The Ark Encounter is a life size Noah's Ark theme park in Kentucky. The $172 million ark was built by the creationist Christian ministry 'Answers in Genesis.' It is 155 metres long, 25 metres wide, and 15 metres high -- measurements derived straight from the bible. Australian evangelist Ken Ham is the man who founded the project.
To get to the ark itself, patrons have to buy tickets at a booth before being shuttled on buses for about mile until they reach the area of Noah's ark. According to Ken Ham this means "leaving the modern world and coming up into Noah's world." On the ship are 132 ark bays that are filled with exhibits of Noah, the story of creation (according to Answers in Genesis) and will answer questions on how Noah cared for the animals. The ship will have a large amount of sculptured animals on display plus a petting zoo.
