HWKN and Handel Architects have started to build New Jersey's tallest building. The residential skyscraper will be a whopping 222 meters tall.
The building is named 'Journal Squared' due to its location in the Journal Square district of Jersey City. It's adjacent to the Port Authority Trans-Hudson rail that connects Jersey with Manhattan.
The tallest structure will be in front of the accompanying towers that will be 193 meters tall and 175 meters tall. The building will be visible from as far as New York across the water. Marc Kushner of HWKN said, "Our goal was to design an urban space that knits together the existing urban fabric of the Journal Square, while also creating an iconic presence in the skyline."
