Mexico's National Museum of Death Explores One Country's Fascination

In my part of the world we got all crazy this past weekend celebrating Halloween. In Mexico, however, they are getting jiggy to their Day of the Dead festivities. Two years ago Mexico opened The National Museum of Death, an exploration into that nation’s fascination with death and dying.

With Mexican culture being steeped in all things death related, its art abounds with this macabre theme. The National Museum of Death showcases such things as jewel-encrusted skulls and a collection dedicated to ‘Saint Death’, a grim reaper style saint worshiped in poorer neighborhoods.
