'My Concrete Garden' Shows Surprising Elegance

Slovene architect Tina Rugelj exhibited her 'My Concrete Garden' outdoor furniture series in the 2012 Milan Design Week 'Salone Satellite' section. The collection consists of the usual garden furniture essentials: tables, benches, an old-school sink, a minimalist shelving system and a hip dog house -- all made out of cement fibre.

Rugelj softens the urban rigidity of concrete in her collection by designing the objects with simple, essential lines. She manages to fuse nature and metropolitan cities in a surprisingly beautiful way. Design addicts with a feel for unusual contrast, and a garden in their homes will love these extraordinary pieces.

Tina Rugelj was selected among the 100 young designers under 35 to showcase her collection at the prestigious Salone Satellite Exhibition Center of the 2012 Milan Design Week.
