Vadhir Derbez Announced a Glee-Like Musical Show Called 'Candela'

As Fox's Glee finishes up its final season, the announcement was made that the son of Eugenio Derbez, Vadhir Derbez is developing a similarly styled musical show for Latinos called Candela. An undisclosed American network is developing the TV show, which Vadhir will also star in.

The actor explained in an interview with Reforma "I imagine they're doing something similar to 'Glee' but perhaps not like 'I'm on stage and I burst out singing' type of thing but something more of a 'Glee-Rebelde' mashup." In one month's time Vadhir will travel to Miami to start filming the musical show. Sheryl Rubio has also been confirmed to be starring alongside him, forming Candela's main couple.

The show does not have a premiere date set, but it has apparently been sold to more than 100 countries with potential live shows later on.
