The Museum of Historical Marksmanship is Stunning

The Museum of Historical Marksmanship gleams in the medieval German town of Duderstadt.

Gnädinger Architekten has constructed a highly modernist construction that juxtaposes with the town’s historic architecture. The space protrudes form Duderstadt’s fortified wall and makes for a striking sight amidst the classic buildings surrounding the building. Architect Christoph Claus explains, "The expressive, outstanding form was chosen to create a new landmark in this old medieval town and a signature architecture."

Narrow spaces within make for fascinating gallery spaces that are surprisingly welcoming to light. The golden facade of the construction is meant to represent weapon craftsmanship of the past despite its avant-garde references to the architecture of today. The Museum of Historical Marksmanship is a visually appealing beacon of shining historical insight.
