Industrial Lab-Inspired Eateries

This Munich Restaurant is Located Inside an Ordinary House

This moody Munich restaurant was designed to resemble an industrial laboratory. Located inside a residential house in the Bavarian city, Ferdings Bar and Restaurant has a dark atmosphere that makes it seem ideal for grabbing a late night snack or reading while enjoying a beer at its romantically lit bar.

Designed by interiors firm Format Works, Ferdings feels futuristic thanks to its monolithic black bar and inclusion of an abundance of lush greenery. Particular attention was paid in the design process to each edge and gap in order to maximize the effectiveness of the design language. The logo, prints and many other interior elements of the Munich restaurant were inspired by old French subway tiles.
