'Hiroshi & Tomoko Sekiguchi Architects' designed a quirky Japanese home that is illuminated by multiple skylights. Japan is well known for its tight living quarters and quirky building industry. The latest home to receive an unusual makeover comes courtesy of Hiroshi & Tomoko Sekiguchi Architects.
The 'Mountain Home' is located in a residential neighborhood in Hyogo, Japan. The compact building features inclined walls that resemble the shape of a mountain. The lower portion of the home features a garage that is large enough to park a four-wheel drive car. The living quarters are located above the garage and are accessible via an exterior door. Although it appears as though the home is windowless, the space is actually illuminated by multiple skylights. The result is a warm and inviting apartment that makes excellent use of a small space.
