Poundland's Mountain Chocolate Bar Takes Cues from Twin Peaks

Last year, the manufacturers of Toblerone reduced the weight of its iconic mountain chocolate bars to better accommodate the rising cost of ingredients. Now, British variety store chain Poundland is introducing its own £1 alternative to the sweet treat that plays on the recent reboot of Twin Peaks.

The Toblerone-inspired Twin Peaks chocolate bar boasts double mountains, and celebrates classic British flavors rather than offering a taste of Switzerland. As such, Poundland worked with a Birmingham-based chocolatier on the making of its own mountain chocolate bar. For the creation of this dense new chocolate bar, the creators took cues from the double hill on the top of Wrekin Hill in Shropshire.

As Poundland's Barry Williams puts it: "Poundland shoppers are savvy, and the change in their favourite chocolate bar last Christmas didn't go unnoticed. That's why we've created a new £1 alternative for them – the size they wanted, with a British taste, and with all the spaces in the right places."
