The Go Outside Mosquito Repellent Radio Keeps Bugs at Bay

The Go Outside mosquito repellent radio keeps pesky critters away using a rather scientific method. It is safe to say no one enjoys the buzzing hum of a mosquito, nor the itchy, swelling bites they produce.

Go Outside magazine teamed up with a Sao Paulo radio broadcaster to produce this bug-repelling program and encourage citizens to get outside without worrying about irritating insects. The station overlaid an subtle 15 khz frequency to its normal programming between 6 to 8 pm -- a time when mosquitoes are most prominently at-large. The frequency cannot be detected by humans, but to mosquitos, it sounds very much like their natural predator the dragonfly. Listeners can relax in the comforts of nature without worrying about constantly dosing themselves in chemicals and covering up every inch of visible skin.
