These Modern Sunglasses Explore Self-Image with Modern Art Fixtures

Monokel Eyewear and retailer Voo Berlin launched a line of modern sunglasses that is presented through art installations created by Axel Wannberg.

The installations are presented at Voo Berlin where the each pair of limited-edition modern sunglasses are displayed atop mirrored sculptures. The sculptures are made using disproportionate geometric block mirrors. The sunglasses themselves are white frames complete with silver mirrored reflective lenses, which create a cohesive collaboration between the shades and the artwork.

The inspiration for Monokel Eyewear's sunglasses comes from the exploration of self image and the modern idea of narcissism. The mirrored lenses are a perfect fit for the vanity-infused theme. The literal and symbolic meaning for this line of is a paralleled comparison between beauty and wisdom.
