The Bobo Project's Mixed-Use Residential Building Blends Past & Future

New York-based SOMA Architects' 'Bobo' project comprises a mixed-use residential building located in the Lebanese capital Beirut. The concept's biggest talking point is its spectacular facade, which will protect the 1920s-era home that is the focal point of the project.

This mixed-use residential building will comprise 11 storeys and will include 13 spanking new luxury homes, all respecting the integrity of the original residential building. The interior of the old building has already been cleaned out, with the space set to be used as an art gallery and high-end retail and entertainment space.

The structure is largely forged out of glass and will be supported by a solid steel exoskeleton and anchored in place by a concrete core.

The Bobo project was originally designed in 2010 and is set to be completed in early 2017.
