Tribal Pole-Inspired Furniture

The MiTOTEM Bookshelf by Esrawe Studio is Abstractly Geometric

The MiTOTEM Bookshelf is a contemporary design inspired by traditional totem poles erected by indigenous peoples in North America. Tall, stately and symmetrical, the designs may be entirely abstract and geometrical, but they do resemble these sculptures in shape and even size.

Designed by Esrawe Studio, the MiTOTEM Bookshelf may look very light, but they are incredibly strong and sturdy. Each shelving unit boasts a tough powder-coated metal frame and wooden surfaces. Playing with visual representations of tension and compression, the MiTOTEM Bookshelf comes in four different versions and three colors (white, black and teal). The overall design is at once simple and intricate. While the shapes used are rather basic, the way they are overlayed in the MiTOTEM Bookshelf is dimensional.
