Minimalist Tree Trunk Benches

This Bench by Cradle Exlores the Use of Recycled Materials

This understand tree trunk bench was inspired by the idea of recycling materials in an effort to create something new and functional.

This simple yet elegant bench was designed by Cradle, a studio based out of Toronto, Canada. The designer collective that makes up Cradle consists of Nicholas Koppelaar, Jessye Grundlingh and Andrew Kroetsch who united through a mutual interest in re-purposing discarded materials.

The studio's first project titled 'Bench_01' is a minimal tree trunk bench that uses a split piece of wood as a seat. The organic wooden material that makes up the seat sits atop a simple white metal wire frame with a tree-like metal pole at one end. Together these components create a uniquely minimal mixture of both the organic and industrial world.
