The Quirky Milli Stool Takes an Arachnid Form with a Single Missing Leg

A seating object might only require three supportive posts in order to stand with stability, but the Milli Stool has been endowed with four more to give it personality beyond its practicality. British designer Ash West has been working on this piece as a personal project for some time and is now working to get serious about its production.

The latest chairs to be manufactured are made from FSC-certified MDF board; however, experimentation may lead to molded polypropylene models in the future. Whether they're plastic or wood in structure, the designer is set on finishing his Milli Stools in bold colors.

This vivid aesthetic quality complements the playful and eccentric forms of the seven-legged seats. The Milli Stools' inspiration is from UK coins and squid-like sea creatures, but the furnishings have come to embody their own unique character.
