Bright Beanbag Cinemas

Michal Stasko's Theater Design is Filled with Beanbag Chairs for Seating

Comfort is essential when watching a movie and Slovakian designer Michal Stasko has decorated a cinema that takes theater comfort into a new realm. The cinema in Samorin-Cilistov, Slovakia, is filled with brightly colored beanbag chairs from TULI.

The theater's unique seating isn't completely haphazard, as one might expect considering the amorphous quality of beanbags. Rather, the chairs are gathered two-by-two and placed in three-sided enclosures that give some order to the playful layout. These enclosures also include pockets for drinks and snacks, making it easier for moviegoers to nosh while they watch films.

The decadent comfort of Michal Stasko's cinema comes with a price for the theater, though. While its standard seating could fit 300, the beanbag design lessens that number by two thirds, allowing space for just under 100 spectators.
