Micah Spear Hosts an Instagram Auction to Support Black Foundations

Micah Spear is an artist and designer based in New York and he recently announced a special auction taking place on Instagram to support the Black Lives Matter movement. He is hosting an artwork auction to support Organizing Black, which is "a grassroots, member-led organization dedicated to fighting for liberation for all Black people by building local power."

Today and tomorrow, he is auctioning one of his famous Ø [Null] sculptures, including a burnt $10,000 USD bill in a solid lucite case. The Ø [Null] was first introduced to the public back in 2017 in Tokyo with Julian Klincewincz. It was made to capture the theme of consumerist culture and the monetary power gained from its social value.
