Meizu recently announced its official launch of the world's first offline payment function for AR glasses, making it possible for customers to pay directly from their smart glasses without needing to reach for their phone. As such, Meizu sees the potential for smart glasses to become the next generation of smart terminals after smartphones.
This innovation was made possible in collaboration with the cross-border payment technology team of Ant International Alipay+, and it taps into the power of optical waveguide display technology, voice noise reduction and capture technology, and camera-based code scanning technology.
This first-of-its-kind implementation of offline payment functions for AR glasses was initially integrated into the StarV Air2 smart glasses. This function is set to be gradually implemented in Q3, and Meizu plans for all new smart glasses launched to offer this payment function.
