The Meeting Roofs is a playfully creative way to introduce some much-needed privacy in the office. As more workspaces adopt open layouts, the issue of privacy becomes a hot topic. Yet products such as the Meeting Roofs show that it is possible to introduce a sense of confidentiality without alienating the rest of the group. It essentially pops open like an umbrella and looks like a mutated one as well.
Commissioned by Kvadrat and designed by Goncalo Campos, the Meeting Roofs was inspired by gatherings that often occur at trade fairs around the world--Milan in particular. Psfk writes, "It’s a commentary on the informal meetings that take place during these design weeks between people that have often traveled from all over the world to be in the same place."
