Health Insurance ATMs

In India ATMs are Being Used for Medical Tests and Insurance Policies

Most are familiar with automated teller machines (ATMs) for personal banking, but now they are also being used to perform non-invasive medical tests and issue health insurance policies. Max Bupa Health Insurance is installing the health ATMs in banks across India. The health insurance firm is working with a health startup to make this happen.

People interested in purchasing a health insurance policy use a validation code sent to their mobile phone number as well as biometrics to access the machine. The ATM can measure your body's blood oxygen levels, blood pressure, height, weight and temperature to figure out your BMI, bone density and muscle mass among other things. This data is used to provide users with a health score.
