The Halal Guys Just Launched a New Meatless Gyro and Vegan Tzatziki Sauce

In an effort to make its offering more inclusive to vegetarians and vegans alike, The Halal Guys just debuted a new Meatless Gyro and Eggplant Hummus.

Gyro is a Greek dish that's usually made from meat (often pork or chicken) cooked on a vertical rotisserie. However, now vegans can get their gyro fix to with the new Meatless Gyro from The Halal Guys. The new dish features a gluten-free alternative to beef that's made from pea protein, coconut oil, beets, brown rice, Halal Guys spice mix, mushrooms, and paprika. The new Meatless Gyro can be enjoyed as a platter or as a sandwich, both of which can be topped with the chain's new Vegan Tzatziki Sauce – a sauce made from aquafaba (the liquid leftover from cooked chickpeas).
