McDonald's Versus Ad Rendered in CGI

This McDonald's Versus ad starts out as an appeal to pick which menu item is better, fries or a Big Mac, but devolves quickly into a 'Matrix'-style CGI exploration of depth and fast food depravity.

Is McDonald's food so fake that it has to be, well, faked? Not exactly, says Bruce Branit of Branit|vfx, who created the ad. "We used photo modeling techniques from a real photograph of a Big Mac and the the fries. The fry box, Dr. Pepper, ice, bubbles, smoke, straw, environment, etc are all entirely CGI. The real reason to do this spot as CGI was to be able to choreograph the camera move in limited time and budget," says Branit, according to Eat Me Daily.
