The MaynoothBike is Designed for Maximum Comfort and Efficiency

The MaynoothBike is a bicycle designed for maximum efficiency and comfort. Designed by German engineer Christopher Lenz, the bike is named after the town of Maynooth, Ireland, in which Lenz has a home.

An avid cyclist, Lenz was dissatisfied with traditional cycle designs as he wasn't a fan of high saddles, bent-forward biomechanics and low recumbent positioning. He therefore decided to build a bike better suited towards his whims.

The result is the MaynoothBike, a bike which has pedals mounted on either side of the fork. When one pedal is pushed down, the other automatically comes up. The chain doesn't rotate full circle but moves up and down in reaction to the pedal-connected slides.

The drive setup allows for the inclusion of a lounge-like seat with a comfy backrest.
