Abstract Crystal-Like Couches

The Manet Armchair by Marta Szymkowiak Also Acts as a Library

The Manet Armchair is a playful design that focuses as much on form as it does on function. Although at first glance there appears to be little to no function involved in the design, that is far from the case. Not only does the Manet Armchair provide a comfy perch for those looking to put up their feet, the abstract crystal-like cushions act as an impromptu library for books and such.

Designed by Marta Szymkowiak, an industrial designer based in Milan, Italy, the Manet Armchair is predominantly made out of polyurethane foam. A student project for UA Poznan, the cushions are created in such a way that they match the contours of the body perfectly. It is also an ideal place to nap.
