Pastry-Inspired Summer Sneakers

Maha Amsterdam and Vans Join Forces on the Classic Footwear

Vans works in collaboration with footwear retailer Maha Amsterdam on a new iteration of a familiar sneaker model for the summer season. Diving into the archives of Vault by Vans, the duo decorate their own version of the OG Style 36 LX low top shoe. The iconic checkerboard pattern that is true to Vans returns, but this time in a color palette of orange and white.

The tonal update is actually inspired by Orange Tompouce, which is a Dutch pastry. It is a sweet dessert that is similar to a thin puff pastry that is filled with cream and topped off with a layer of smooth pink icing. To reference the Dutch colors, the update features orange icing. The names of the model includes "True White," "Amberglow," and "Marshmallow."
