Bucolic Luxury Appartments

Piet Boon Brought the Country to Park Avenue

Dutch designer Piet Boon renovated a former office building on Park Avenue into a series of luxury apartments. The structure was in such a state that it demanded a complete overhaul, prompting the architects to tear down the facade and begin anew.

The metropolitan location didn't stop the designer from implementing a home country aesthetic for the interior. To ensure a consistent flow of natural light, the architects replaced the small windows at the front of the building with floor-to-ceiling glazing framed with dark steel.

Each of the open-plan apartments feature a neutral color palette, which is further offset by the white oak floor planking. The simplicity and symmetry throughout is very reflective of the Dutch design aesthetic.
