Broomstick-Inspired Shelving

The LivingBlock Collection by Antonio Serrano Bulnes is Playful

The LivingBlock Collection is made up of very simple components even though, at first glance, the designs might not seem all that simple. Inspired by plain wooden boxes and parts of broomsticks (namely the handle), the LivingBlock Collection is simply reiterations of the same forms. The 'broomsticks' act as the base while the wooden boxes become the stylish shelving units.

Designed by Antonio Serrano Bulnes, a designer based in Madrid, Spain, the LivingBlock Collection was created for Mad Lab. Each piece is made without hardware and are only glued at the finger joints. They are then finished with a natural wax. The materials used to make the LivingBlock Collection are sustainable and locally sourced, which will appeal to the environmentally conscious.
