The Stin's Limited-Edition Gin Can Be Authenticated by an NFC Chip

Those who purchase bottles of premium, limited-edition gin from The Stin will be able to verify the authenticity of a bottle thanks to NFC-enabled packaging, the blockchain and a mobile device. Thanks to crypto-enabled NFC chips that are fitted to the labels on the gin bottles, buyer will be able to see how many bottles remain for sale—as just 999 are going into circulation.

The Stin's bottles are being fitted with technology from blockchain developer Block42 and tracking capabilities will be provided by Korea-based Icon blockchain.
