Heineken’s ‘Legendary Posters’ Show Support for the Rights of Journalists

Dutch beer brand Heineken’s ‘The Legendary Posters’ is a series of epic posters featuring over 40 legendary individuals from the fields of sport, entertainment and the arts. The posters were commissioned to convey the brand’s support of Reporters Without Borders, a global non-profit organization that aims to protect journalists and fight for freedom of information.

The Legendary Posters and their support of Reporters Without Borders is in tune with Heineken’s brand message that people should do everything in their power to cross creative, professional and personal boundaries if they want to get the most out of life.

The posters—each of which was made on a white canvas with the trademark green Heineken bottle in the center—were made to go on incredible adventures all around the world, from bubbling volcanic rock in Iceland to the depths of the ocean in the Bahamas. As a result, they have come back as one-of-a-kind pieces of art, bearing physical reminders and scars of their unique journey.

The Legendary Posters series was created by the Amsterdam-based ad agency Wieden+Kennedy.
