The Lay's 'Do Me a Flavor' Campaign Looks to the People for Ideas

The Lay's USA 'Do Me a Flavor' contest has finally brought the crowd-sourcing flavour-creating campaign to the company's home country.

Lay's has launched similar contests all over the world in the past, yielding spectacular results like 'Classic Caesar Salad' in Australia and 'Spicy Crab' in Thailand. The whole premise of the campaign is to get individual chip-enthusaiasts in a population to come up with a new flavor, be it tied to the traditional cuisine of the country or not, in an effort to boost interaction with consumers. The contest comes to America in celebration of Lay's 75th birthday, by asking anyone to go online to Lay's website, name a desired flavor, write a Tweet-length description of their proposal and wait for the finalists to be selected. The top three choices will be picked by celebrity chefs and launched into the market in 2013. From here, the public will decide on their favorite, which will then earn a permanent place in the company's chip roster.

With this special opportunity, the people have to power to create an All-American chip!
