3D-Printed Lawn Mowers

Summit Mowers' Monster Lawnmowers Use 3D-Printed Parts

In addition to being impressive for being able to handle steep slopes and traverse a number of different kinds of surfaces, Summit Mowers' powerful lawn mower designs are particularly impressive for being made with some 3D-printed parts.

The Monster Lawnmowers have parts that come from 'i.materialise' that allow the machines to run properly. Unlike most lawn mowers, these ones are designed to be rugged enough to handle everything from dust and high vibrations to water, gas an oil spills. 3D-printed brackets are used to mount components of the lawn mower, which provides a cost-effective alternative to making these brackets by hand and ensuring that they are constructed well enough to line up with other internal components.

While the bracket is created in plastic, there may be some experimentation with printing the parts in metal someday.
