Choosing comfort and piece of mind over downtown and crowded areas, Germany-based master carpenter and freelance designer Sascha Akkermann decided he wanted an alternative to the traditional block apartments or opulent villas and opted to leave dry land behind and go for a modern and lavish house boat.

Created by interior designer Flo Florian of Confused-Direction Design, this house boat has everything you would need in a contemporary home from minimalist palettes to luxurious finishing, and it looks amazing.

"It was important to me not to build a simple log cabin a on the water, but to create a valuable home balancing modern design and maritime flair," says Akkermann.
