Artistic Eyelash Clocks

Bina Baitel Studio's Lash Clock is on Display at the Grand-Hornu Museum

Bina Baitel's Lash Clock is an artistic concept for telling the time that looks at clocks in a completely new way. Taking inspiration from the eye, the wall-mounted ring is covered in an interior circle of fibers that look like eyelashes. The Lash Clock has an embedded mechanism that manipulates these fibers to display the time.

The mechanism in the Lash Clock creates two gaps within the fibers -- one larger and one smaller. The placement of the large gap represents the hour, and the smaller gap represents the minute. These segments cycle around the ring of the Lash Clock, and those looking at it can get a sense of the time based on their positions.
