This Cocoon Cradle, named the Mother Piece, by Japanese fashion designer Kosuke Tsumura, was created as a new dressing for mothers and their babies. The rockable cradle is a gentle and inviting place to lay new born babies as it is made of an ultra-soft, but firm as silk, cocoon. Individual units are combined like puzzle pieces to create mother’s clothes.
The Cocoon Cradle was recently shown at the Tokyo Fiober 09 exhibition SENSEWARE. The fabric is Felibendy (registered trademark) and is air-, water- and acoustic- absorbent, plus stretches to give maximum possibilities for ways to wear it.
