Kilian Schönberger photography series are well-known for their beautiful landscape settings. Most recently the Cologne-based photographer took to the Scottish Highlands to continue capturing his ethereal photographs.
The recent shots showcase the many majestic aspects the European countryside has to offer: castles, mystical waterfalls, waterways, iconic graveyards, medieval architecture and of course, sweeping green landscapes.
The series was inspired by Scottish national hero William Wallace, the man who inspired the ‘Braveheart’ film and was shot during a two-week road trip along the Scotland countryside. Every image looks so beautiful that it can easily be mistaken as an image taken straight out of a fairy tale book -- or the Mel Gibson film sans the gore and war.
