At the New York Toy Fair, HEXBUG is unveiling JUNKBOTS as a new range of collectibles for kids inspired by junk robots. In all, there are 36 characters to collect, each of which comes in a plastic package that's shaped like a trash can. To mimic the experience of assembling a robot from disparate parts, the toys appear like a bunch of random scrap parts initially and they have a universal socket system that allows their parts to be snapped together. To help with the assembly process, HEXBUG includes blueprint guides to putting together a working bot.
As well as sharing a fun unboxing experience that involves toys that must be thoughtfully put together before play, JUNKBOTS come to life with vibrations, lights and movements.
