Jeong Yong Uses His New Calendar to Comment on Our Relationship with Time

Jeong Yong presents his new magnetic ring calendar as a commentary on the relationship between the Sun, Moon and Earth.

Instead of focusing on coming up with a new way to present time (which he achieved anyway,) Jeong Yong decided to draw attention to our usage of time and how all three elements that contribute to it are connected.

The calendar is simply called One and is comprised of three rings connected by way of magnets inside them. The biggest ring has 31 units and represents the the Sun's rotations around the earth in a month. The middle ring has 12 units and represents the Moon's movement that tells us when the month has changed. The final ring has seven units and represents the days of the week, a man made unit of time.
