Fishnet Fashion Frenzy

Jean Paul Gaultier Fall '09 RTW Has Lots of "Windows on the Skin"

Alluring fishnet details were everywhere at the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall RTW show in Paris. The collection had the lattice panels set into everything from patent leather Army-type boots to flip-up and strapped on superhero-inspired masks. JPG describes the fish netting as, "Windows on the skin."

Gaultier’s hosiery all included fishnet or sheer panels. The interesting thing was the way the sheerness was executed in strips, all the way up either the front of the back of the leg. The web-like pattern appeared in quilted jackets, handbags, sleeve details, and coat collars.

The fantastically French theatrical runway show is pure JPG, finishing with a mock cat-fight between Coco Rocha and another model.
