Koe is a Japanese Language Game That Makes Learning Easy

'Koe' is a Japanese language game that makes the process of learning a new language fun. Simplicity in the game is key, which is evident from the name of the game itself, which translates to mean "sound" in Japanese. The game itself is an RPG style game that has players converse with both friends and foes, earning objects to use in-game.

The game was developed by Jitesh Rawal, a student of University of Derby who has been studying Japanese. One of the issues Rawal faced while beginning to learn the language is a common one that baffles many people — where do you possibly start? The game begins in English, gradually transitions into Japanese lessons, including an introduction to katakana, hiragana, and kanji through basic vocabulary, grammar and phrases.

Koe has already met its initial crowdfunding goal on Kickstarter and will continue to collect funds for the rest of the month, which will assist with tasks like going forward with voice actors, character development and translations, so that the game can also be produced in other languages in the future.
