Ivan Alifan Jdanov Created Gloomy Imagery Out of Ceramic Spills

Russian-born artist Ivan Alifan Jdanov has attended in OCAD University in Toronto, Canada, where he is currently residing. This talented artist's work is overall varied in subject matter and tone throughout his portfolio. He mostly likes to paint human figures and he creates consistently exquisite work.

However, the three gloomy portraits he has painted of a woman covered in what looks like the liquid form of ceramic is especially noteworthy.

The artwork has a very gloomy mood and the artist uses spectacular shading to accentuate parts the realistic lighting imagery. One of the paintings is of the ceramic-covered girl proceeding to bite in to a rose while another one is painted sideways and framed into a family portraiture frame. The mood that is communicated through the canvas is dramatic and awe-inspiring.
