Cast-Iron Rotundas

This Round Iron Frame Works to Define the Parameters of This Public Park

A new cast-iron frame has been erected at London's King Cross neighborhood. This refurbished frame has been redesigned as part of a new public park and event space.

Gasholder Park is now surrounded by this large-scale industrial frame, which is also accompanied by a canopy of stainless steel panels inside the inner perimeter of the space. The contemporary perforated mirrored panels serve as a contrast to the large iron frame that encloses it.

This unique interplay of modern design and refurbished industrial parts becomes a distinct representation for this gentrified community. Kings Cross has slowly developed into an up-and-coming neighborhood with the increasing popularity of Granary public plaza and now the inclusion of this reclaimed Grade II Victorian gasholder.
