The Iris+ Quadcopter Can Be Paired With Android Devices

The Iris+ is a quadcopter drone that has a special 'Follow Me' function that allows it to automatically and autonomously fly above a moving ground-based GPS Android device. Say you want to record footage of you cycling, skiing or surfing -- all you have to do fit a GoPro onto the drone, keep an Android device in your pocket and be on your way, and the drone will follow you and film you.

However, it's important to point out that the Iris+ doesn't have an automatic collision avoidance system, so it shouldn't be used in Follow Me mode if there are trees, power lines or other similar obstacles in the way.

The drone can also be flown using the included remote control unit, or by plotting a course on your computer. Users can use the free DroidPlanner Android app to finger-draw a desired flightpath for the quadcopter to adhere to.
