This interactive light installation was designed by Luz Interruptus for the Waterman Arts Center in London. The piece stimulates both visual and tactile senses, looking like a still image of a macro rain shower and inviting visitors to squeeze each drop.
The exhibit is meant to showcase water and its vitality, casting negative opinions on the privatization and selling of the natural resource. Condoms were used as a medium since they similarly are made to hold and preserve a source of life.
The condoms used were extra durable and filled with blue-dyed water to give it the eerie look. A small autonomous light was also put inside every rain drop to create a luminous glowing effect in the interactive light installation.
