The Ingage Chair by Adrian Wu Forces People to Interact With Nature

The Ingage Chair is a modified lounger that forces people to interact more directly with nature. Although it looks like is has sunken deep into the earth after laying outside for years despite its unweathered aesthetic, the Ingage Chair has purposely been made to incorporate the grassy floor into its design.

Conceived by designers Adrian Wu, Wen Han and Rongxin Zhang, the Ingage Chair provides a more comfortable perch than simply sitting cross-legged on the ground. Supported by a backrest, the Ingage Chair nevertheless lets people feel the ground beneath them. It is also quite pleasing to look at, as if it were a quirky sculpture.

Created for the Seattle Design Festival 2012, the Ingage Chair was displayed earlier this year.
