István Orosz's Impossible Worlds Evoke MC Escher

"You never now whether you’re going up or not when climbing the stairs," said MC Escher. His mind-twisting false perspective has inspired many artists, and his technique has been used in advertising, animation, computer games, and illustration ever since.

István Orosz is a Hungarian artist obsessed by pictures that fool the eye. For several years he used them to illustrate classical theater pieces like "West Side Story" or "Leonce and Lena."

In the last image you can see his experiments with anamorphosis, a distorted perspective that requires the viewer to reflect the image in a circular surface in order to recognize it.

This kind of art should be administrated with care. It can cause headaches, eye itching, nausea, and extreme sense of the absurd!

He also created several short movies in the same manner. Watch and mind the steps!
