Iberchem's Between the Lines Concept Explores Metallic, Papery Notes

Iberchem’s New INK collection and fragrance concept, Between the Lines, is coming to In-Cosmetics Global 2026 to introduce a new olfactive family and a new way to think about fragrance. "Ink is not a single note, but rather a multifaceted accord. It is built through contrasts: cool mineral facets, dry wood, smoky and resinous touches, and with a metallic reverberation," shared Iberchem’s head perfumer, Luz Vaquero. "The result is an accord that feels powerful and intimate at the same time, like the smell of freshly printed pages or an old library where every book carries a memory. Ink represents a new neutral that is versatile, genderless, and quietly strong."

The timeless, versatile, genderless essence of ink speaks to a general interest in quiet luxury, refinement, and depth of meaning through storytelling.

Trend Themes

  1. Ink-inspired Olfactive Families — An emergent olfactive family built from metallic, papery and resinous facets that redefines traditional scent categories and enables novel product lines centered on complex, non-floral accords.
  2. Genderless Fragrance Neutrality — This movement toward versatile, quietly strong scents positions neutral, identity-agnostic formulations as a new mainstream category that challenges binary marketing and packaging conventions.
  3. Sensory Storytelling and Memory — Products and experiences that evoke printed pages and archival spaces indicate a demand for scents designed to trigger narrative associations and long-term memory cues.

Industry Implications

  1. Perfumery and Cosmetics — Formulation houses and beauty brands face opportunities to develop novel ingredient blends and delivery systems that prioritize mineral-metallic and papery accords for premium segments.
  2. Publishing and Print Products — Book publishers, stationery makers and archival suppliers could incorporate scent-infused materials or scratch-and-sniff elements that embed olfactory identity into physical media.
  3. Hospitality and Private Clubs — Boutique hotels and members’ clubs may adopt bespoke ink-like ambient fragrances to create differentiated, memory-rich environments that enhance perceived exclusivity.
