Boxy Cantilevered Residences

House on a Stream is a Modern Private Retreat in India

House on a Stream is an apt name for a gorgeous weekend retreat built just outside Mumbai, India. Designed for a professional couple who desired a private getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is surprisingly modern even though it manages to beautifully blend into the natural environment that surrounds it. Hence its name.

Designed by Architecture Brio, House on a Stream is made out of wood and concrete, materials that may by strong and sturdy, but manage to perch delicately on the chosen landscape. Taking on a cantilevered position, it is arranged in two parts. One focuses on day activities such as dining and living while the other part focuses on evening activities that include sleeping.
