The House in Onomichi is Focused Around an Adjacent Waterway

Suppose Design Office has completed The 'House in Onomichi,' a residence which uses angled walls to frame views of the neighboring water straight. The architects followed the curve of the site, greatly maximizing the view; in fact, by tilting the home 60 degrees, they were able to create continuous exposure to the water.

The building is comprised of five parallel timber walls, which divide the interior into four lengthy sections, each which boasts a trilateral terrace offering, again, views of the water. The glazed ceiling, located in the main entrance and adjoining hallway, maintains a continued relationship with the site as the inhabitants make their way through the space.

The floor tiles of the main living space continue onto the attached terrace, uniting the two spaces in a harmonious blend of indoors and outdoors.
