The creators of the Hotel Droog wanted to reverse the idea of a hotel. Traditionally the idea of a hotel revolves around exclusively sleeping. Renny Ramakers the director of Hotel Droog, took the aspects many hotels offer (i.e. shopping) and enlarged it to become the main focus of the idea.
