Bunkhouse Hotels Presents the Hotel Saint Augustine

The Hotel Saint Augustine is the latest to join the Austin-based hospitality group Bunkhouse Hotels. It is right by the Menil Drawing Institute and nods to the surrounding history and ecology of the location. The hotel is made as an inward-facing urban hotel and detailed with monastery-style elements which are offset by bright pops of color and texture throughout.

Other details include the premium planted gardens which come through the voids to give way to the paths on location. Notably, Texas design firm Ten Eyck has worked with the Jogn Fairey Garden to curate a range of complementary plants for the site. It includes dwarf rock palm, blue rabbit's foot fern, and eyelash sage to name a few.
